goin' nuts

Sat Jun 13, 2009, 11:24 AM
What's worse for an artist than the lack of nescessary tools to get the job done? Lack of ideas to work on, maybe. . But other than that I can think of only a few.

I'm currently working on a little something to take the edge off from my creative block, going on 4 months now. I've got tons of ideas in terms of coloring, theme, backround etc. and I find it infuriating to see how little of my art supplies and tools have survived the horror of spring cleaning. Wooden coloring pencils, paintbrushes, Colored markers, the whole catastrophy. .
And I have to wait until the end of the month to get paid from work so that I could go and buy some. . 'fuck's sake. . Oh, well. .You win some, you lose some.

Maybe I'll just keep myself busy writing what just may be one of the kajillion ideas for a graphic novel story floating around in my head. . Gee, it's a good thing I don't feel at all like that guy from the opening story of Sandman volume 3...

  • Mood: Anger
  • Listening to: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
  • Reading: My own whining
  • Watching: Some Morgan Freeman movie
  • Eating: A damn good chicken sandwich
  • Drinking: milk

I guess my signing up to DeviantART could be described as something of an excercise on trying something new. I've always loved browsing through the deviations of other artists and getting tons of inspiration and ideas from their work.

I'm sort of a newbie at this, due to the fact that I've never had my works on display at an ACTUAL art site. But as it seems, there's a first for everything.

I've never thought of myself as anything short of a mediocre artist. but I'm trying hard to be better at what I do so that I might actually one day become a quarter of a hundreth- way decent graphic novelist in the future.

I work mostly with lead pencils. I have done so all my life and that's what I'm good at. I'm constantly working at becoming a better colorist and writer.
Suffice it to say I'm an ever-developing force of futility. .Heh.

Cheers<3
